Careless Whisper Chp. 19

     The words slipped out softly as Kiro inched his face closer to Strify’s. Just as their lips were about to meet Strify broke from Kiro’s gentle grasp and stood.
     “I’m going to bed,” Strify answered picking his shirt up off the floor. “You should probably go. Don’t worry about the mess; I’ll have Yu clean it up in the morning.”  He finished before retrieving his crutches and disappearing down the hallway.
    Kiro sat in the dim candle lit living room for several moments. What had just happened?  The night had started out rough, but towards the end…? Kiro didn’t know what to expect anymore. There wasn’t anything else he could do. He’d practically thrown himself at Strify’s feet and what good had it done?


     “You’re back early..,” Shin commented as Kiro drug himself into his apartment. “We weren’t expecting you until morning.”
   “So, how it go?” Yu questioned from his position in front of the television.
   “I don’t want to talk about it.” Kiro grumbled before heading down the hall to Shin’s guest room. Once inside he buried his head in the mattress and began to weep. It seemed as if he’d cried enough tears to fill up the ocean the past few months. If he went on this way it was sure to kill him.
    “I think you need to talk about,” Yu’s soft voice soothed as he sat down next to Kiro on the bed.
   “I guess my plan didn’t work.” Shin concluded from the doorway.
   “Well…,” Kiro began turning over onto his back and starring up at Yu’s concerned face. “He was really distant at first…,”
   “That was to be expected.” Shin answered stepping farther into the room. “You did practically crush his entire being, mentally and physically.”
   “Was that comment meant to help things?” Yu questioned giving Shin a dirty look. “Go on, what happened?”
   “He didn’t say much until desert..,” Kiro continued going over each detail about his and Strify’s confusing encounter.
   “He just got up and told you to leave?” Yu questioned after Kiro was done talking. “But, things were going so…,”
   “Well!” Kiro finished. “I really thought he was beginning to forgive me. I don’t understand what I did wrong this time.” Kiro sobbed tuning back onto his stomach. “Love is so complicated!”
   “Love is a battlefield,” Shin sighed from the doorway.
   “You’re quoting again,” Kiro laughed pathetically into the comforter. That seemed to lighten the mood as they all three burst into a fit of laughter.
   “I have a feeling this is going to be a long night,” Shin stated a hint of laughter still hanging in his voice. “I’ll go make us some hot coco.”
   “Yeah, because chocolate fixes everything,” Yu agreed watching Shin disappear through the open door.
    “This is a disaster…,” Kiro breathed. “How did we get ourselves into this?”
   “Hormones and tour buses,” Yu answered lying down next to Kiro.
   “What?”
   “That’s how we got into this,”
  “Vey funny…, we’re not a bunch of hormone infuse teenagers. We should have had better control over ourselves.”
   “Correction, you should have had better control. I was only involved with you and….,”
   “And…?”
   “We’re musicians there’s always an and involved.”
   “I don’t want to know…,” Kiro smiled leaning his head over on Yu’s shoulder. “I really am sorry about all of this.”
   “I know you are,” Yu answered gently playing with a few strands of Kiro’s hair. “We just need to get Strify to see it too.”
     

    “I can’t believe this!!!” Strify’s harsh voice woke Kiro. “I thought you said you were sorry!”
   Kiro rubbed his eyes and tried to focus on the figure standing in the doorway. “What’s going on?”
   “Why don’t you tell me?” Strify answered. “What happened last night got me thinking about a few things. So, I came over here this morning to talk to you and I find this!!!”
   “What?” Kiro asked again trying to regain some sort of consciousness. He really wasn’t a morning person. Setting up slowly Kiro tried to untangle himself from Yu’s arms. Wait…, Yu? Oh, Shit!
    “Strify it really isn’t what it looks like this time!”
