Careless Whisper Chp. 22

      This can’t be happening. Strify thought bolting towards the door as fast as his injuries would allow. He may be angry at Kiro, but in no way did he wish anything bad to befall him. Sure, he’d made some stupid choices. He’d totally disregarded the thoughts and feelings of the people around him, but….?
    Had Kiro’s actions really been completely selfish? Yes…,No…?  No, they’d been for Yu and his sake as well. As Strify tried desperately to make his way across town he started to imagine what it had been like in Kiro’s shoes. According to Kiro, he had been with you for weeks before he and Strify had even began to flirt with each other. Maybe it had started out as polite interest, but…,
     That was it!  Kiro had realized his feelings for Strify while he was still with Yu and he had tried to avoid fallout on either side by extended the relationship longer than if should have. It had all the logic of one of Shin’s master plans, Strify concluded. How had he been so blind to what was happening around him? Love can be a funny thing sometimes.
     None of that mattered now. Kiro was in pain somewhere. Shin’s words had been bit cryptic, but the message had been clear. Had this been how Kiro felt when he heard about Strify’s accident? At that moment in time he would have said no, but his new epiphany made him thing otherwise.
     Strify mounted the stairs at the train station slowly. He didn’t know what he was going to find waiting for him on the platform above, he just hoped it wasn’t what he feared. Upon reaching the top of the stairs Strify franticly darted his eyes around the all too calm platform. There didn’t seem to be any accident here.
      Was he at the wrong station? No, this was the right place because standing a few yards away was Shin and Yu. They stood in an eerie silence starring down at the empty train tracks. What had really happened here?
    “What happened” Strify questioned approaching the spot where Shin and Yu stood. “Where’s Kiro?”
    “He’s gone…,” Shin whispered solemnly. “Kiro’s gone…,”
    “What?” Strify panicked dropping to his knees. “Kiro’s dead!!!” This couldn’t be happening. Had his grief been so bad that Kiro’d jumped in front of a moving train? That didn’t make any sense. There would be police here and an ambulance and….? What the hell was going on?
   “Strify,” Shin spoke kneeling down in front of him. “Did you here what I said? Kiro’s gone. You missed his train.”
   “Huh? I don’t understand. I thought you said there was an accident?”
   “I did.” Shin answered. “It was the only way I could think of to get you down here, but you were so slow getting here Kiro already left.”
    “So, there was no accident. Kiro’s perfectly fine.”
   “Yep,”
   “You might want to move before I strangle you!”
    “Hey, at least this proves one thing.”
   “And what is that?”
   “You still care about him.”
   “Well, that does me no good now that you guys let him leave.”
   “We did not let him leave. We did everything but strap him to the platform to get him to stay, but we’re not you.”
   “Hey guys,” Yu piped in from his new position next to the train schedules. “It looks like Kiro has to switch trains at the nest station….,”
    “So, we can head him off.” Shin answered sprinting over to where Yu stood. “But, that station’s on the edge of the city. We’ll never make it there in time.”
   “We can if we speed.” Yu answered turning around. “Ok, Strify are you coming…? Where’d he go?”
